Rogers and Hammerstein's- "The King and I": The multi-Tony winning The King and I dances its way out of New York for a much anticipated national tour in 2016. The latest revival of Rogers and Hammerstein's classic musical captures all the old-school Broadway magic of the original, while draping it in a whole new level of opulent finery. It's a brilliant new staging that is guaranteed to sweep you off your feet! Based on a true story, The King and I traces the blossoming romance between an English governess and the King of 19th Century Siam. Part love story and part culture clash comedy, the show contains some of musical theatre's greatest numbers, from "Shall We Dance" to "Getting to Know You", to "I Whistle A Happy Tune".

The property is beautiful and it’s very possible, they may offer a big name entertainer the night we come in. Of course, if this happens, tickets are an added expense. Even if you do not have a passion for gardening, just walking through this event is sure to give you a bit of "spring fever"! Next…lunch at the Pings Chinese Restaurant! We thought an oriental experience for lunch would be the perfect prelude to the King and I Broadway production. It's family style with everything "Chinese" that you would expect. After lunch, we'll wind our way a few blocks away to the Orpheum Theater for "The King and I" for the 2 pm matinee. After the show, we we'll wind our way homeward with fond memories.
