With much pain and sorrow I must announce that Larry, my beloved husband of 45 years, passed away this past April 3, 2018 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Anyone who knew Larry admired him for his kindness and gentle approach to life. Besides being my partner in life he was my partner in business providing him the pleasure of meeting many of you. He loved travel and adventure but even more importantly, he loved getting to know our Happy Trails family whenever he had the opportunity to travel along. He was always waiting at the bottom of any stairs to extend a steadying hand and in many cases, flirt with the ladies!
Another sad announcement I must make is the passing of my lovely mother, Marge Ellis, one of the co-founders of Happy Trails. She gently slipped away from us on February 18, 2018 after a long and painful battle with cancer. Mom was bigger than life and loved every aspect of the Happy Trails Business. She treated it like her baby and she thought of you all as family. Only a couple months prior to her death, mom was still coming into the office to help me with the general bookkeeping and tax filings. She loved visiting with many of you on the phone and enjoyed telling stories of the many trips she and my dad, Grant, enjoyed over the many years.
Our family extends our heartfelt appreciation for all the kind words of encouragement, cards, memorials, and prayers of comfort from so many of you. Please know that we are more grateful than words can ever express.
My heart grieves the loss of my beautiful mom, mentor, and friend. My heart is broken from the loss of my Larry, the love of my life.
I am learning to take life a moment at a time. My faith in my Lord will see me through this trial because I know HE has wonderful plans for me. I'm still here. I'll be OK. I'm getting back to work. Both Larry and my mom, Marge would want that. So...continue to keep me in your prayers as I learn to blaze this new trail ahead........
