Day 1 – Tue, Dec. 12 Travel to Romeoville, Illinois 323 miles from Eau Clair, Wisconsin (5.5 hours)
We’ll kick off early morning departures throughout Central, Northeast Minnesota and Northwest Wisconsin. Enjoy your day getting acquainted with fellow travelers. We’ll make comfort stops and meal stops as the day progresses. We stop every 2 ½ - 3 hours. Set your seats back and enjoy fellow travelers and the fact that you can relax and let our trusty driver take the wheel. Our destination will be Romeoville, Illinois with an estimated arrival of around 6:30 pm. We’ll take folks out to dinner tonight (paying on your own). The rest of the evening is yours to enjoy as per your agenda. Our hotel is the lovely Holiday Inn Express.
Day 2 - Wed, Dec. 13 Travel to Nashville, Tennessee 480 miles
Breakfast begins at 6:30 am and is served in the breakfast room. Shortly afterwards, we'll travel to Nashville, our destination city where our exciting Christmas Holiday awaits! This is another day dedicated to traveling south so set your seats back, enjoy the company of fellow travelers and get ready for a fun filled day. As we cross the Illinois/Indiana border, we’ll move into eastern-time zone. We’ll weave back into central time zone once we get into Kentucky. Lunch, will be at a Bob Evans (paying on own) with an estimated arrival to Nashville around 4 pm. We’ll get checked into our lovely downtown Hotel (The Sheraton) with a little time to freshen up before dinner at Ol’ Reds. Blake Shelton’s Ol’ Red’s Restaurant offered a tasty buffet style meal with wonderful musical entertainment by a local musician. Enjoy your evening! We’ll return to our hotel early tonight.

Day 3 - Thu, Dec. 14 Area City Tour / Ryman Theater Tour & Gen Jackson
A full Breakfast is served at the hotel before boarding the coach for our 3 ½ hour Nashville Area City Tour. The next few hours are saved just for you so that you can explore the historic downtown area and get lunch (paying on your own). Time to freshen up at the hotel will be made before reboarding the coach and traveling to the beautiful General Jackson Showboat for evening dinner show and cruise.The General Jackson is a 300 foot vessel styled in the grand tradition of the paddlewheel riverboats that cruised the great Southern waterways in the 1800’s. Immerse yourself in the proud tradition of the great showboats of yesteryear and delight in the panoramic evening city lights on the scenic Cumberland River. You are going to LOVE the holiday show on stage. The talent you’ll hear on this stage is what makes Nashville what it is today! The menu is a duo plated entre’ (salad,

Note: We’ve built in a good amount of shopping on this tour because it’s Christmas. For those who are not into shopping, you are right downtown with many wonderful museums, restaurants and other cool places of interest to fill your time. It’s all about “location!”

You’ll be served a full Breakfast, included, at the hotel this morning. Today we’ll visit the Country Music Hall of Fame. Here you'll hear rare recordings of country's legendary performers, see behind-the-scenes films by today's stars, along with costumes, instruments and personal treasures from country music's past and present. This museum is AMAZING! Even if you’ve done this museum before, most of our groups enjoy seeing it again and there are always new exhibits featured. Before we tour the museum, we’ll be “Stars for the Day!” This includes a personally guided tour of historic RCA Studio B, Home of 1,000 hits, where music legends recorded timeless songs. You'll be inspired as you stand right where Elvis himself stood to record over 200 songs! Your afternoon will include free time for several hours downtown on 2nd Avenue. All of the places where we are visiting are in the historic downtown area so let us know if you’ve done some of these attractions before and we can help you customize your free time. We are about 4 – 5 blocks from where the action is on 2nd Avenue. Tonight, our dinner (included) will be at the Wildhorse Saloon. Here we’ll enjoy a delicious home-style BBQ buffet dinner. We’ll also have time to for our “Line Dancing” lessons before taking in our evening entertainment. Tonight will be a very special night as we will travel to the Ryman Theater for a holiday concert starring Vince Gill and Amy Grant. It’s one thing to have a tour of the Ryman but a total different experience to actually see a show performed there. Some would say it’s magical! Others might say it’s spiritual. Whatever it is one feels, we are going to be a part of that experience. So, sit back and enjoy the unique experience at the

Enjoy a full Breakfast at the hotel prior to beginning our day. Our first stop is the lovely Opryland Hotel. Here we’ll have a walking tour of the property, which is all decked out for Christmas! This property hosts restaurants, shopping and recreational activities underneath signature glass atriums. It is situated on 9 acres of lush indoor gardens and cascading waterfalls. You can't come to Nashville and miss a visit to this amazing resort property We’ve planned for a few hours here so that you can relax and take it in at your own pace. Next: It’s Opry Mills! We seem to never have enough time to even stop by here and our groups have asked us to add it in… so here’s to some fun holiday shopping in Nashville! It is a bargain shopper’s paradise with more than 200 manufacturers outlets, off-price retailers and unique specialty stores. There’s more than 1.2 million square feet of “Shoppertainment”! We will stay here

only a few hours but one could easily spend an entire day! FYI: If you are not into shopping they have an IMAX Theater, 20 Movie Screens and the Bass Pro Shop. Our evening meal includes dinner at Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen (a family-style meal served with several meat options and all the fixings). To top the evening off, we’ve reserved your seats at the 7pm performance of Nashville’s must-see attraction and world’s longest running live radio show, The Grand Ol’ Opry. Day 6 - Sun, Dec. 17 Saying Good-Bye to Nashville – Travel to Romeoville, Illinois (480 Miles)
We’ll start our morning off bright and early after a full Breakfast (included). We'll make stops along the way ~ Set your seats back and enjoy the scenery and the company of fellow travelers. Our lunch stop venue and city will be announced on board the coach today. We’ll arrive to Romeoville, Illinois in the early evening about 6:30 pm. We’ll bring you to a local restaurant tonight for dinner, paying on your own. You can also order from local restaurants, as well, if you prefer an early night. Our lodging is the Holiday Inn Express. Day 7 - Mon, Dec 18th Homeward Bound with Many Fond Memories (445 Miles to Duluth / 450 to Sartell)
A Breakfast is served at the hotel. We’ll travel 300 miles to Eau Clair (Oakwood Mall-about 5 hours). This makes for a great lunch venue and comfort stop. We’ll also meet our transportation that brought our friends from Sartell and the Twin Cities areas on that first day. Central Minnesota will arrive home around 6:30 to Rice; 7:00pm to Sartell; Twin Cities will arrive home around 4:45 pm
Our friends from the Duluth / Superior area will arrive home between 4:30 - 5:00 pm.
Our friends from the Iron Range Cities - 6:15 pm to Eveleth; 6:45 pm to Chisholm; 7:00 pm to Hibbing (B)

Things to Know before you go on your Merry Music City Nashville Christmas Tour
Payment/ Schedule / Cancellations: Deposit of $250 per person due when registering. No reservation is considered solid without a deposit paid. The deposit is fully refundable with cancelations made prior to September 1, 2023. Final payment is due October 1, 2023. Monies refunded between September 1-October 1, 2023 are contingent to what Happy Trails Tours receives from hotels, theaters, attractions, tour companies and charters. No refunds with cancellations made after October 2, 2023. Travel Insurance is highly recommended.
How to Dress: Pack light. Wear casual clothing, comfortable shoes & a warm jacket. It’s winter. It can get pretty cool in Nashville in December.
Luggage: Pack one suitcase each. This suitcase is delivered each night to your rooms by the porter - including tips. You may also bring a carry-on bag on board the coach. Carry-on bags are handled by yourself. Do not make them heavier than what you can carry. Pack a swimming suit if you enjoy the pool, bring a camera, a raincoat, & an umbrella...just in case!
Hotels: The hotels are very nice throughout the entire tour. Many have indoor/ outdoor pools, coffeemakers, irons, ironing boards and fitness centers. The property in Nashville is right downtown in the heart of everything. We are here for FOUR nights. It is a full service property and within walking distance (About 5 blocks) of the historic downtown area.
The Coach: You can expect to ride in style on deluxe 56 passenger motorcoach with reclining seats, big windows, restroom, TV’s & VCR & DVD and seatbelt.s We stop every 2 - 3 hours for breaks. Wi-Fi is also availble and #110 outlets on board.
Covid 19: The coach company has made great strides in keep the motorcoach safe for travel. They have a new air filtration system installed. They are following all madates set forth by the state where cleaning and air filtration system is concerned. We will do our very best at keeping you safe!
Seat Rotation: Many years ago we stopped rotating seats. If you have a special medical need that requires you to sit toward the front, please let us know. Seating is on a first-come, first served basis according to registration. You might be surprised to know that many people often request the back of the coach. Just as many have no preferrence either way. Note: Your seat has been reserved in advance of the tour. Watch for a name sign for you and your travel partner on your seats.
Special Needs: Be sure to let us know of any special needs...such as diet, walking, stairs, allergies or motion sickness, etc…. Please refrain from using strong colognes or perfumes while on board the coach. So many folks have allergies and we want everyone comfortable while traveling. If you use a cane, wheel chair or motorized scooter- bring it! We will walk to some events unless we don’t feel it’s safe or the weather hinders us.
Meals: If you have any special dietary needs, you may have to supplement these by bringing along a small cooler and packing some food items in it. Each hotel and restaurant properties will serve our food and beverages as per their health guidelines.
Tipping: The tour includes tips for luggage handling, meals and step-on-guides while touring on this Nashville tour. Tips are not included for your driver & on board travel host. This is traditionally done at the end of the tour and oftentimes done individually or as a group.
