Things to know before you go on this Northeast Fall Foliage & Cape Cod TourFinancial Information: $200.00 per person deposit due per reservation- Fully Refundable with cancellations made by June 30, 2015. Remainder of the deposit is fully refundable with cancellation made by July 15, 2015. Monies returned with cancellations between June 30 - July 15, 2015 are contingent to what Happy Trails Tours receives back from hotels, charters, tour companies, restaurants and theaters. Cancellations after July 15, 2015 receive no refunds since at that time we are financially committed to all inclusions.
Number of Travelers Needed: This tour is based on a minimum of 35 travelers. If we do not meet that minimum by July 15, 2015, the tour may run the risk of cancellation. If Happy Trails Tours cancels this tour, all monies paid to us by the customer will be fully refunded. The most we can take is 46.
No reservation is final without a deposit paid within 7 days of registering.
Final documents: Your final documents and day-by-day itinerary, hotel address & phone information will arrive in early September.
How to Dress: Pack light.... Bring casual clothing, comfortable shoes & a lightweight fall jacket. Layer your clothing so you are prepared for all types of weather. Many of the hotel properties offer coin-operated washers and dryers, for your convenience.
Luggage: Pack one suitcase each. This suitcase is delivered each night to your rooms by the porter. (Tips are included so do not tip them more unless you want to). You may bring a carry-on bag on board, as well. (Carry-on bags are handled by yourself. Do not make them heavier than what you can carry. ) Pack a swimming suit if you enjoy the pool, bring a camera, a raincoat, & an umbrella...just in case! It is wise to pack an alarm clock as a back up, as sometimes glitches occur for wake-up calls provided from the front desk.
Driver & Escort: Your driver and escort’s names are yet to be announced. Be assured they're experienced, friendly & a lot of fun to travel with.
Hotels: The hotels are very nice with non-smoking rooms. Most rooms blocked have two beds. One property (the Weathervane Inn) may not be able to offer two beds in the rooms but they do have a sofa sleeper in the room. Most have indoor pools, coffeemakers, irons, ironing boards and fitness centers. Read the day-by-day to learn more. They’ll do their best to accommodate all special requests. Couples may find they only have one bed in a room if hotels find two-bedded rooms are limited due to heavy fall foliage bookings.
Meals: There are many nice meals included in this tour. Some breakfasts are deluxe continental and some are full hot breakfasts. All the dinners & lunches are very good, with specifics to be announced. Be sure to call in any special diet requests. Tips for the waiters/waitresses are inlcuded for the meals we pre-packaged. Tips are not included for other meals that you pay for on own.
The Coach/ Seat Rotation: Our coaches are chartered through Trobec Bus Company from St Stephens, MN. They offer the newest fleet in the motor coach business from their new Tempsa (38 passenger) to the full size 45 foot coach (54 passenger). They are comfortable with reclinging seats, large windows, restroom, window shades and adjustable foot rests. They also have TV’s & VCR & DVD. We offer “open seating” unless special requests have been made for those with special needs. For buses that are full we often pre-arrange bus seating so that you can travel along side your friend or family. We will NOT be rotating seats while on this tour. Though there are advantages to rotating seats, we have also found that there are disadvantages, too. One thing we have noticed is that when folks keep the same seat throughout the tour, people stay “healthier”. Colds and flu bugs do not spread as quickly. This is reason enough to keep the same seat throughout the duration of the tour.
Special Needs: Be sure to let us know of any special needs...such as diet, walking, climbing stairs, allergies or motion sickness, etc….PRIOR to departure.
Tipping: The tour includes tips for luggage handling, meals and step-on-guides while touring various cities. Tips are not included for your driver & escort. This customary act and the amount given is entirely a personal decision and often done individually or by the group on board. As always…it’s appreciated but never required.
Colognes and Perfumes: With so many folks allergic to the different chemicals in colognes and perfumes, kindly refrain from the heavy use of products containing strong fragrances. Thank you.
On Board Activities: We play movies, play games, listen to cd’s & tell stories as we pass the time along while traveling. If you have a cute joke or story (and it’s appropriate for all audiences!) then we invite you to use the microphone and share your humor with all on board.
Schedule Changes: We reserve the right to adjust this schedule for the benefit of all traveling. Sometimes changes occur beyond our control. If a change occurs, we will let you know as soon as possible and try to replace it something of equal value.
Travel Protection Insurance: Travel protection insurance is available to folks for many different types of emergencies that may result in a personal cancellation on this tour. Travel insurance not only offers financial security but also “peace of mind”. Pre-existing conditions are waived if it is purchased within 10 days of your initial down payment to Happy Trails Tours.
