The trail consists of over 400 barn quilts, which are large painted quilt blocks displayed on barns and other buildings throughout the county. The project was started to find a new purpose for old, empty barns and to celebrate the area's agricultural heritage and artistry.

Things to Know Before You Travel with Happy Trails Tours to Door County

Should You Become Ill Prior or During the Tour- Please do not board the coach if you are exhibing symptoms of a contageous illness such as influenza, viral infections or other that may be spread throughout the coach. Visit your doctor and get the OK to travel if you are or have been ill within the past few days prior to departure.  NOTE: We cannot distance you from a virus. Taking a motorcoach tour and sitting in close quarters with fellow travelers is inevitable. If you fear you may become ill while traveling with us, we ask that you reconsider taking this tour. As much as we’d love to have you, it’s next to impossible to promise someone that they won’t get sick while traveling. If you purchased travel insurance, BRING YOUR TRAVEL INSURANCE DOCUMENTS WITH YOU. Here is where the travel insurance comes in handy. Should you need any special assistance while on this tour, they will help you with any arrangements that may be needed to safely bring you home from where ever you are located. Masks will not be required to be worn on the coach unless it is mandated by the state of MN and WI.  You may certainly wear a mask if you feel more safe. If you are feeling ill, we may encourage you to wear one.

The Coach/ Seat Rotation: The coach is chartered through Minneosta Coaches out of Duluth. It has seatbelts, reclining seats, foot rests, seat pockets, cup holders, restroom, microphone, Wi-Fi, #110 electrical outlets and requires several steps to climb to get inside. We do not rotate seats. We try to accommodate those with special needs and assign folks to a seat according to when they registered. Thank you for your understanding.

Hotels: The hotel amenities are in your day-by-day. On occasion, you may notice one without an elevator.

Fully Guided with Professional Drivers and Escorts: Not to worry. You’re in good hands! A Happy Trails Representative looks forward to greeting each one of you. Rest assured, the smallest detail has been given the utmost attention to ensure a relaxing and well-organized tour. The Minnesota Coaches drivers are wonderful and very accommodating, too. Together, your driver and tour host will take great care in all the final details to assure a fabulous travel experience. Often, the services of local experts & step-on guides are enlisted as well.

You may bring a carry-on bag, as well, on board. Carry-on bags are your responsibility.  Always pack medications and medical equipment in your carry-on bags.  Remember to pack your luggage as if you needed to carry, lift, or pull yourself. Don't forget chargers for your phones, tablets, laptops, or cameras.

Dress Code & How to Pack: This tour is comfortable and casual. Wear comfortable shoes and pack a light-weight jacket should it get a bit chilly.  You may also wish to pack a swimming suit as Stone Harbor has an indoor pool. We also recommend an umbrella for the rainy days and sunscreen and a hat for the sunny days.

So many folks have allergies and we want everyone comfortable while traveling.  Diabetics are encouraged to bring along some little snacks as we cannot always promise meal breaks on schedule though we do our best to.
