This tour to Nashville, Tennessee, will celebrate the holiday season “southern style” to include THREE nights at the Opryland Hotel with endless opportunities that celebrate the season of Christmas. Enjoy the Louise Mandrell Dinner Show in the Opryland Ballroom, the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, cruise the Cumberland River on the General Jackson and see the Grand Ol’ Opry at the historic Ryman Theater. Reservations: Reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis and must have deposits paid within one week of booking.
Deposit / Final Payments: $125 per person deposit ($25 is non-refundable) due when registering. Remainder is refundable with cancellations by September 1, 2010. Final payments are due October 31, 2010.
Cancellations: Cancellations made between October 31st and November 10, 2010 are hinged on what Happy Trails Tours receives back from hotels, theaters, restaurants, boat tours , charters and tour companies. No refunds after November 10, 2010.
Cancellation insurance is available and highly recommended. It can offer peace of mind and financial security. It will also offer coverage for pre-existing conditions if purchased within 14 days of your initial deposit for this tour!
Final Documents: Final documents and billings will be mailed in early November after all final payments have been made.
Dress Code: Dresses, skirts, or nice dress slack outfits for the ladies & dress shirts/sweaters & slacks for men. (Coat & tie is a nice but not required.)

Changes: We reserve the right to adjust this schedule for the benefit of all traveling. If a change of hotel, restaurant or an attraction occurs, we’ll replace it with one of equal value or better. As always… we’ll inform you of any changes as we learn of them.

Travel to Bloomington / Normal, Illinois 500 miles
All meals will be paid for on your own, today
5:45 AM - Begin early morning departures in various cities up on the Iron Range continuing to Duluth / Superior area. Put your seats back and relax as the motor coach travels along. This is great time to get acquainted with fellow travelers and enjoy scenery, on-board activities and so on. We’ll stop every 2-½ - 3 hours so folks can move around and stretch. A lunch break will be made in Eau Clair along with a couple of rest stops, as well.
6:30 PM - Estimated arrival to the Signature Inn. There are several nice restaurants around the hotel.
The Signature Inn has coffee makers, hairdryers and two queen beds in the rooms. They have a couple of nice restaurants within walking distance (almost in their parking lot!).

Travel to Nashville, Tennessee / The Grand Ol’ Opry at the Ryman 436 miles

6:00 - 7:00 AM - Enjoy a hot breakfast prior to checking out of the Signature Inn, included. (In the hotel lobby area)
6:00 AM - Set your suitcase outside your door for the porter. (You can set it out earlier if you wish, but not later, please)
7:00 AM - Depart Bloomington / Normal for Nashville, Tennessee.
This is again another travel day where we’ll relax and enjoy the scenery and enjoy each other‘s company. Sops will be made for meals & restroom breaks as the day goes along.
3:00 PM - Estimated arrival to the Opryland Hotel. 5:00 PM - Dinner included tonight (venue to be announced)
7:00 PM - The Grand Ol’ Opry - LIVE at the historic Ryman Theater in downtown Nashville.
9:30 PM - Estimated arrival to the hotel.

9:00 - 10:00 AM - Meet your area tour guide and we’ll give folks a Narrated Guided Walking Tour through the Hotel.
10:00 - 12:00 PM - Board the coach and we’ll take a narrated city tour of Nashville. For those of you who’ve done the tour before, and would prefer to just stay at the hotel and enjoy as per your leisure, no problem!
There’s so much to do! Gaylord Opryland’s “A Country Christmas” has an outdoor Nativity display, crafts and gifts galore, lavishly decorated trees (Hall of Trees) and nearly two million Christmas lights. It’s everything Christmas all in one place. VIP coupon booklets and tickets to the Treasure for the Holiday’s will be given to everyone, too.
Treasures for the Holidays- Ryman B1 & B2 Exhibit Hall (Craft Show) open 8am-5pm - Ticket included.
The Outdoor Nativity Display- Magnolia front lawn area - No admission charge - open daily 5 pm-9 pm.
Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides: Departs every 20 minimum (Charge of $10 per adult Optional activity)
Delta Flat Riverboat - Optional activity at an additional charge of $9 pp + tax
Brightest Star Christmas Fountain Show is free and available throughout the day.
ICE! - Showing at the Gaslight Theater daily in the Opry Plaza - 10 am to 9 pm - Ticket included..
This is a chilly adventure through a frozen world of larger-than-life ice sculptures all carved from 1.5 million pounds of Ice! Wear a jacket or a sweater. This is really…“really” cool.
4:45 PM - We’ll gather together in the lobby area and walk to the main ball room for the Louise Mandrell Dinner Show. After the show concludes, folks will just walk themselves back to their rooms. The rest of the evening is yours to enjoy as per your own agenda!

The General Jackson Cruise and The Radio City Rockettes

7:00 - 9:00 AM - Enjoy another full buffet breakfast at the hotel. ( Water’s Edge )
Enjoy the early morning as per your own agenda - again …there’s so much to do here that you certainly won’t get bored! You’ve also got later in the afternoon to also take in some of the hotel attractions.
10:45 AM - Board the bus and we’ll take you to the boat dock for your luncheon cruise.
11:30 AM - Enjoy the General Jackson Showboat….lunch and show. (casual attire)
This is the largest showboat in the world and cruises down the Cumberland River. The meal is a buffet lunch.
2:00 pm - Return to the hotel. Enjoy the rest of the afternoon at your leisure. Dinner is on your own here at the hotel tonight before taking you to your evening show.
6:00 PM - Board the bus and we’ll travel to the Opry House for your evening show.
7:00 PM - Enjoy the Radio City Rockette’s at the Opry House.
9:30 PM - Return to the hotel for a well deserved night’s rest!

Homeward bound toward Illinois 436 miles

7:00 - 9:00 am - Enjoy another nice full breakfast at the hotel this morning before checking out.
10:00 AM - We’ll board the bus - allowing one more stop that folks will probably enjoy. That’s to the Oprymills Shopping Mall so folks can pick up a few souvenirs. Also, this will be your lunch stop before leaving town.
12:00 PM- We’ll get back on board the bus and continue northward to Illinois. About 7 hours away. A dinner stop, paying on own, will be made en-route to Normal, Illinois.
7:30 PM - Estimated arrival back to the Signature Inn in Normal, Illinois

Things to “know before you go on your Nashville, Tennessee Christmas Tour”
  • How to Dress: Pack casual clothing, comfortable shoes & a winter jacket. Both the General Jackson and the Grand Ol’ Opry is a comfortable casual type dress code. You may want to dress up a bit for the Louise Mandrell Dinner Show and the Radio City Rockettes.
  • Luggage: You may pack one suitcase each. They are delivered each night to your rooms by the porter. (Tips are included so do not tip them more). You may bring a carry-on bag, as well, on board. (Carry-on bags are handled by yourself. Do not make them heavier than what you can comfortably carry. )
  • Hotels: The hotels are very nice throughout the entire tour. Opyland Hotel is spectacular- what can we say? It has an indoor pool and so much more. The Signature Inn offers coffee makers, irons, ironing boards and fitness centers and a nice hot breakfast in the morning. They do not have an indoor pool.
  • Meals: There are many nice meals included in this tour. Most breakfasts are full buffets meals and all of the rest of the meals are fabulous. Meals included in the package also include tips for the waiters/waitresses. Tips are not included for other meals that you pay for on own.
  • Tipping: The tour includes tips for luggage handling, meals and step-on-guide while touring Nashville. Tips are NOT included for your driver & escort.
  • On Board Activities: We play movies, play games, listen to cassettes & tell stories as we pass the time along while traveling. If you have a cute joke or story (and it’s appropriate for all audiences!) then we invite you come and use the microphone and share your humor with all on board.
