“Up the Lazy River” …..on the Mighty Mississippi River Day By Day Day 1: October 5thTravel day to Dubuque, Iowa 360 miles from Duluth Today is a travel day - set your seats back and enjoy fellow travelers, scenic drive through Wisconsin as we travel southeast to Dubuque. Late after noon arrival is expected with lodging at the Holiday Inn, a full service property along the river. Take the evening as per your own agenda tonight. For those interested, we’ll take folks to Diamond Jo’s Casino for a bit of gaming. It’s also a great place to get your dinner, if you enjoy buffet meals. (All meals paying on own today) Day 2: October 6th Cruisin’ the Mighty Mississippi River 60+ miles up the river This morning, we’ll rise bright and early and be on board the boat by 7:30 am. Breakfast awaits our arrival once we’re settled on the boat. Get yourself a lounge chair…..enjoy the lovely scenic cruise up the Mississippi all the while narration, live entertainment, games, food and snacks are offered throughout the day. There’s even time to read a book or take a little snooze if that’s on your agenda today. We’ll arrive to Prairie du Chien around 7 pm tonight. Our motor coach will be there to pick us up and bring us back to Dubuque’s Holiday Inn- about an hour away. We’ll return around 9 pm. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner included today) Day 3: October 7th Exploring Dubuque, IA - Mississippi River Town - Victorian Progressive Dinner This morning, enjoy a nice breakfast at the hotel before getting on board the bus. We’ll enjoy a narrated area tour of Dubuque, plus make time to stop in the historic district to do a bit of shopping and get lunch, paying on own. We’ll return to the hotel in the mid-afternoon, time to relax and bit and freshen up for tonight’s dinner. We’ll enjoy the Victorian Progressive Dinner. Visit three historic mansions to include food at each stop and live entertainment and tour of the home. It’s sure to a wonderful experience for everyone. We’ll return to the hotel around 9 pm tonight. (Breakfast & Dinner included today) Day 4: October 8th Homeward Bound with Fond Memories ~ 360 Miles to Duluth area Enjoy a full breakfast again this morning before boarding the bus for home. We’ll make necessary stops along the way to include lunch and dinner. Estimated arrival home is as follows; Duluth/Cloquet area: 6:30 pm; Eveleth area: 7:30 pm; Virginia: 8:00 pm; Hibbing: 8:30 pm; Grand Rapids area: 9:15 pm. |
