The sunsets are beautiful and the resort is thrilled that we’re going to spend SEVEN nights in Fort Myers Beach this year. This full-service property is located directly on the white sand beach of Fort Myers … with wonderful shopping nearby and a “trolley” that stops right in front of our hotel and will take you anywhere up and down the beach that you’d want to go! We’ve added a taste of that “Southern Hospitality” that Savannah, Georgia is known for. Yes, our Florida escape to the warmer climate is not only going to appeal to those who love the ocean…but it will also be an unforgettable journey from the Gulf of Mexico to Savannah’s Deep South.

Financial Deposits, Deadlines, Insurance and other Info:
Reservations are taken on a first-come, first-served basis. No reservation is solid without a deposit paid.
Deposit of $150 per person is required when registering. This is non-refundable after December 15, 2008.
Final payment is due January 2, 2009. Cancellations between January 2nd and February 1st and contingent to what Happy Trails Tours receives back from hotels, restaurants, theaters, charters and tour companies. NO refunds with cancellations after February 1, 2009.
Travel insurance is available at an additional cost. It offers peace of mind as well as financial security. Be sure to let us know if you are interested in this. It covers pre-existing conditions when purchased within 14 days of your initial deposit.
The tour is based on a minimum of 30 travelers. The maximum number of travelers is 48.
Because fuel expenses are so unpredictable, it is possible if prices sky-rocket between the time this has been prepared and the time it departs, that a fuel charge may apply. On bus tours with so many folks traveling where it can be divided equally, it is likely to be a fairly small charge. Thank you for your understanding.

2009 Sunny Fort Myers Beach ~ Nashville ~ Savannah
February 18 - March 4, 2009

Travel to Normal, Illinois 500 miles
All meals on own today. This is a travel day where folks get acquainted with one another and put their seats back and relax. Stops will be made every 2-3 hours for breaks. Specifics on what time to board and where will be announced in late December or early January.
6:00 PM - Estimated arrival to Normal, Il Signature Inn- 101 S Veteran’s Parkway 309-454-4044. There are a couple of restaurants near by and a few fast food ones, too. The evening is to be spent at your leisure, tonight.

Travel to Nashville, TN 374 miles
Breakfast / Dinner included.
6:00 - 7:30 AM - Breakfast is served at the hotel.
12:00 PM - Lunch break - place to be announced.
3:00 PM - Arrive to Nashville The Guest Hotel International, 2420 Music Valley Drive 615-885-4030. This is a wonderful property and close to the Opryland Hotel and Oprymills shopping Mall.
5:30 PM - A southern style buffet, included, at the Nashville Nightlife Show - Great show to follow. Sometimes we’ll see Nashville celebrities ….perhaps we’ll get to see Shotgun Red!
We’ll travel to the hotel after the show….this property also has a lounge with live music playing nightly.

Travel to Macon, Georgia 330 miles
Breakfast is included today.
7:00 - 8:30 AM - Breakfast is served at the hotel
8:30 to 12:30 - Enjoy the morning in Nashville today…(Perhaps a visit to the Opryland Hotel might be fun!)
12:30 AM - Depart Perry, Georgia. (This is a travel day … about 7 hours including lunch & a restroom stop)
6:30 PM - Estimated arrival to Macon. Fairfield Inn - 110 Plantation Inn Driver 478-476-8353. Here’s a nice place to stay….with restaurants within walking distance. Enjoy tonight at your leisure.

Travel to Fort Myers Beach, Florida 525 miles
Breakfast included today.
6:00 to 7:00 AM - A light breakfast will be served in the breakfast room. Help yourselves.
This is just a travel day. Stops for lunch and restroom breaks will be made as the day goes along.
6:00 PM - Estimated arrival to Fort Myers Beach. Enjoy the evening at your leisure.
7 Nights @ Holiday Inn Fort Myers Beach - 6890 Estero Blvd, Ft Myers 33931 239-463-5711. This is a full service property with an outside pool, Jacuzzi, full service restaurant, direct access to the beach, ocean view two full beds which have balconies. We only have a limited number of these. We also have a limited number of “standard” with two full beds that overlook the pool area (no balconies). If you take a standard room, the package price will increase according to how many people are in the room. The property also offers a guest laundry facilities, iron & ironing boards, safe, coffee makers, hairdryers, data port for internet and newspaper. The beach is a beautiful sandy beach but because the beach is so huge, folks will walk 1/8 to ¼ of a mile to get to the waters edge. We are on the south end of Fort Myers (a little less congested than on the north end).

This tour will take us to the Edison-Ford Estates and include a casual alfresco lunch today.

OPTIONAL: Day Trip to Key West via Key West Express
Breakfast included today. If you have a desire to visit Key West…kindly let us know and we’ll add that cost of that tour to your final invoice. The cost is $100 per person. Be sure to mark it on the original reservation form.

7:00 - 9:00 AM - Enjoy your breakfast this morning before going out for the day. 239-463-5711. Jump on board the motor-coach and we’ll take you to Sanibel Island! We’ll visit the Ding Darling National Refuge and enjoy a nice lunch, included, along with other neat sites.
3:00 PM - Return to the hotel with plenty of time to catch another lovely sunset.

This morning we’ll be on board early and begin our journey to the charming city of Savannah….truly known as one of America’s most beautiful cities. Our hotel only adds to the theme with it’s location in the historic district between Bay and Abercorn Street, walking distance to River Street, City Market, Lady and Son’s as well as other shops, restaurants and galleries.

11:00 AM - We’ll begin our day with a sightseeing tour of Savannah on the trolley (prepare to dress warm if the day is cooler). We’ll also add to this neat day a meal at a nice restaurant - plus we’ll try to be mindful of time for shopping in the historic district, too. Realizing it’s Sunday…we’re certain some shops will be open where you’ll be able to pick up a few little treasures.

Travel to Chattanooga, TN 370 miles

7:00 - 8:00 AM - Breakfast at your leisure this morning. We’ll begin our journey to Chattanooga today. We’ll be staying at the lovely Holiday Inn Chattanooga where the original and historic Railroad depot is located. It’s good to get in early because there are neat little shops, museum and trolley rides right there. It’s really a fun place and very historic.
3:00 PM - Estimated arrival: Holiday Inn Chattanooga - 1400 Market Street 423-266-5000.
6:30 PM - Enjoy a nice plated dinner, included, tonight.

Travel to Normal, Il - 560 Miles

7:00 - 8:00 AM - Breakfast, included, at the hotel. We’ll leave after breakfast with a delightful lunch, included, at Patti’s 1800 Establishment. Talk about a southern style meal….even the wait staff is dressed in period costuming from the Steven Foster era! You’ll love it.

HOMEWARD BOUND - 532 Miles
